Chicago singer/songwriter Ann Marie shares the visual for her self-empowering and triumphant single, “You Can Have Him.” Directed by A Zae Production, the visual highlights the rising singer’s mindset as she pulls away from fu*k boys to make room for real dudes.
“You Can Have Him” finds Ann Marie’s voice shifting from strong and self-possessed to delicate and tender as she channels a whole world of feeling: heartbreak, frustration, betrayal, a fierce refusal to let anyone mistreat her. The video places Ann Marie in a series of intimate spaces, including primping in her vanity mirror and sipping wine as she draws a bubble bath.
“You Can Have Him” follows-up Ann Marie’s recent single, “Stress Relief,” featuring Chicago rapper G Herbo. Last year, she made her Interscope Geffen A&M debut with Pretty Psycho, an 11-song project featuring guest spots from superstars like Jeremih.
Ann Marie hails from Englewood, a neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. In recent years, the 24-year-old songwriter/performer has built a legion of fans by carving out her own lane, continually releasing bodies of work alongside her many collaborations. A former actress who’s never shy in front of the camera, Ann Marie also recently shot her first fashion brand campaign with JD Sports US. Now celebrating over 585 million streams in the US to date — Ann Marie has cemented her status as one of music’s most intriguing new artists.
