On the track, produced by Kwame, Viv draws inspiration from Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King’s “Love Come Down” and adds her unique spin for a funky, well-tooled, and nostalgic gem. Vivian’s emotionally-rich tone is also supported by a riveting baseline, well known from Grandmaster Flash’s “White Lines.”
In a time where COVID-19 has restricted our opportunities to dance and have fun, “Light Up (Grown Folks Mix)” keeps hope alive for brighter days. Light em’ up, but please, don’t burn down your house! LOL Just Sayin!
